Patient Care Coordinator/MDS Nurse/Medical Records
“Caring that is always Present”
Lisa is an empath. You see it in her genuine smile, magnetic and untiring demeanor as she makes her rounds, tends to the rising needs of each day. Lisa’s gift is in her presence. This allows her to be of use in more ways than one.
Lisa had the chance to be present while both her parents stayed at ANRC: her father, a long-term care resident and her mother, who was a resident of the Sub Acute Unit. She experienced the emotional difficulty of caring for parents as a family member and caregiver. She also feels blessed that she was able to share those moments of togetherness with them in a unique way.
Lisa’s journey in Nursing began when she attended the Bergen Pines School of Practical Nursing. After obtaining her LPN License, she continued to Bergen Community College and graduated with an AAS. She currently holds a Registered Nurse License, Resident Assessment Coordinator Certified and Certified Dementia Practitioner.
Her experience includes Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Doctors office and Management of patient care during rehabilitation.
A friend of hers called to inform her about an available part-time position at ANRC. That was 27 years ago. As a new Mom who was seeking to slowly return to the workforce, she took the job. As time passed, her position evolved into full-time, she had two more children and developed lifelong, meaningful friendships with her co-workers, whom today she considers to be family.
Her experience at ANRC has been rewarding and she returns her gift of care (and creative talent in baking!) to all whom she encounters every day.
